Uhhh... What is that?
I think dealer is just doing what their code reader shows - Cam Shaft Sensor failure. Dealer says they ordered the sensor from L.A. last Thursday and have not heard anything yet from them as of today...

Any news? Or are they still waiting on the cps? Have they done any other investigation/elimination while waiting?

Hey Rod,
Hope your elbow is holding up well. This moring was cold riding the bike to work at 6 AM!

CPS - That acronym is mainly used for Crank Position Sensor. I know you meant Camshaft Postion Sensor tough. I think that Crank Postion Sensor was first used in the automotive industry BEFORE the Camshaft Position Sensor, and it took the acronym CPS. When the Camshaft Postion Sensor came out, it had to take the acronym CAS instead (at least that is the case in Kawasaki). So, if you see CA* something (CAS, CAA, CA9, etc.) on your Kawi Ski dash meter, you know what it means!

Blythe Dodge Dealer - No update yet.
This is my guess. They tried the new CAS and it didn't work probably yesterday (just like predicted). Now they are scratching their head trying to figure out. I have very little confidence in dealerships these days whether they might be car, jetski, etc.

Man, it was freezing this morning riding a bike to work at 6 AM. I think it was something like low 30s.

Claimed 185 hp at the crank but magazine dynoed at 155 rwhp, not too shabby for a 400-lb stock bike. If there is a way to make the ram air induction working on a dyno, maybe little more juice can be squeezed out.

What are you betting on?
Update:

Dealer tried the new Cam Sensor and no go (no surprise there).
They will be trying a set of new injectors.

I've rarely seen injector failures in my experience. And they were:
> Semi clogged injector with debris or paint chip (scraped off from painted injector hole on the fuel rail when installing the injector).
> Defective injector that got stuck open, flooding a cylinder.

But a "set" of new injectors?
Why would ECU keep registering a Cam Sensor error then?

It looks like the truck will be down at least till next week.
