We had it out at Mission Bay trying to "duplicate" the problem. Of course, the ski did not act up. They also ran it in the test tank, again, but this time with diagnostic equipment hooked up to it. They make a "recording" of the data from the ecu, cdi, sensors, etc., and sent it to Yamaha to have their tech look at it. Nothing was out of the norm. They also replaced the battery and they also adjusted the throttle freeplay.

Don't want to jinx myself, but the last 2 rides, no issues. Could it have been replacement of the battery (or the adjustment of the throttle freeplay-more plausible)?

Hey Chaz, Charles ski is running like a champ now! No more issues. Of course if he had bought a Sea Doo he wouldn't have had them in the first place!

Sure is. They replaced the battery (their dime) and all is good. I have been out at least 10-15 times since I got it back.

Replacing battery fixed the probelm? Wow, it was that easy but it took the dealer that long?!
But you didn't notice any slow cranking or any other weak battery symptom when you were having the hard starting issue, did you?
