Here is additional dialogue regarding safety gear / neck braces and lifeackets - there is a link within this link that also goes back to a very informative discussion on Greenhulk - just in case ur interested. Enjoy

Thank you so much for taking the time to inform me and others on the most important aspect of our sport, safety! The info you provided is awesome! I think we should all be wearing the brace. It is such an important piece to add to the overall safety picture. As Shawn says "the life you save may be your own". We should all get these and incorporate them into our routine.

Thanks again,
Dave

My pleasure brotha.

That said, full disclosure is that I have never used the LEATT (just bought it last week) I have some testing to do. IMO, any neck protection is better than none.... the whole concept of bucketing is something to be addressed / considered when we use gear that is not 100% designed for water use. Pros an cons with everything. I am having a lifejacket custom built.. will test a few neck braces with it... we shall see

Bottom line is that with increased speeds (I agree with the Pirate), we HAVE to start thinking about these things. Boats are only going to get faster IMO (or, VERY easily upgraded to high speeds - expl is the new Yammy).

Hooya!

I have a Leatt and it sometimes can limit movement quite a bit, but that's what it's meant to do!

Dubz tried it one time and couldn't get over how it wouldn't let him look up as much as he wanted, I hear the new Leatt SocalOffshore got has more adjustability.

It also is particular with life vests, so be sure to bring your lifevest with you to try it on before you buy one!

Oh, and mine floats

Pulled the trigger on the Instructor II vest from Force 6! I can't wait to try it out tomorrow. It looks like a fighter pilot vest with straps all over the place. Will let you know my opinions of the vest after tomorrows ride!

I can say that I loved the vest! It is very comfortable and you get a real sense of safety wearing it. However as far as pictures the "Video Pimp confiscated them at the launch ramp! He's like a blood sucking picture vampire! I guess the video and pics will be up soon.

Ordered one myself today. I really like the added padding in the chest and frontal areas as well as all the other aspects the vest has to offer. I would contact steve at murrays very friendly helpfull and good prices if any one is looking for one or any other safety gear.

Steve is a good guy, very helpful. Its worth supporting a vendor that supports us.

As for the Force 6, best vest I've owned. I actually float with it and the straps let me be comfortable in it while floating, rather than having it ride up.
